Introdution
SM Ken - Responsive Magento Theme is made with primary blackish colors. SM Ken offers a visual interface to customize all your typography and styles of your Magento store easily. After all, this theme is for stores that sell luxury items like watches, jewelry or glasses...
This Magento theme has 4 preset colors: Black theme as default, Maroon, Brown and DarkCyan. However, with cPanel right on the front-page, we can stylize SM Ken to whatever style color we want. Also, the panel can be off quickly by 1 option in admin configuration.
Advanced features include many cool effects built on CSS3. Besides, SM Ken theme has integrated with Mega Menu allowing lots of multimedia content types inside menus: Youtube, Mp3s, contact form...

1. Installation
1.1 System Requirements
1.1.1 Magento Community Edition 1.7.x

1.2 Installing SM Ken
Before you begin the SM Ken installation process, we recommend to back up your current live Magento files and database for safety.
1.2.1 Unzip file sm_ken_theme_ m1.7.0.2_v1.0.zip to a new folder such as sm_ken (1.7.0.2 and 1.0 are just this release's version numbers)
1.2.2 Using a FTP client, upload the unzipped files to your Magento root folder (merge, not replace)
1.2.3 After themes files, notice that SM Ken theme has 1 dedicated part for theme configuration and 5 other modules for theme enhancement. You can install them as following 1.2.5
1.2.4 Unzip the downloaded sm_ken_extensions_m1.7.0.2_v1.0.zip file to a folder. There will be 6 zip files after extracting.
1.2.5 Extracting zip file of module you want to use, there will be two folder app and skin for each module, except for Ken.zip configuration file with only app folder. Using a FTP client, upload the files to the Magento root folder (merge, not replace).

1.2.6 Now log in to the Magento admin panel. You have to set SM Ken as your default theme
1.2.7 Go to 'System -> Configuration'. Click Design on the left-hand menu
1.2.8 Under HTML Head, find the Default field and type sm_ken
1.2.9 Scroll back to the top of the page and click the Save Config button
1.2.10 Clear the cache then you can see SM Ken as your new theme
1.2.11 About modules configuration, go to 'System -> Configuration'. Under the Tab SMARTADDONS.COM, you can choose to configure modules you want
1.2.12 OR using the Quickstart package
If you've just started building your Magento site from the scratch, we recommend following these steps to have a site with all sample data as our demo page.
1.2.12.1 Download sm_ken_quickstart_m1.7.0.2_v1.0.zip and extract all contents to your Web root folder, usually under public_html/ folder (1.7.0.2 and 1.0 are just version numbers)
1.2.12.2 Change permission of these 4 files and folders (including sub-folders) to 755, if they have not been: magento/var/.htaccess, magento/app/etc, magento/var and magento/media
1.2.12.3 Create a database for your Magento store, this can be done in your hosting control panel (Note: just create database, our script will automatically import demo content for you)
1.2.12.4 Now you access your domain from your web browser, go to Magento, the installer will start and you can install Magento step by step through wizard
1.2.12.5 After the installation is completed, your Magento site should look exactly as our SM Ken demo

4. Layout - Blocks
These are blocks that are pre-made within SM Ken theme. Here is some examples how to use them. We use positions as in demo layout.
Go to 'CMS -> Static Blocks'. Click Add New Block button.
4.1 Position -7, -8 and -9
4.1.1 Identifier
These are the same in layout with image banners, only different in some HTML code.
Let take position-7 as an example. The identifier should be position-7 for easily remembering.
4.1.2 Code
Click Show/Hide Editor to add this code, classes are needed:

5. Configuration
Configure homepage
1. Select the homepage from 'CMS -> Pages'.
2. Select Design on the left-hand menu. Select “1 columns” from the Layout drop-down menu.
3. In the Layout Update XML box, remove the existing content then add the code as you want

4. Click the Save Page button.
Configure theme using admin back end
For easing the theme configuration, we has been created Cpanel in the front end, this is identical to what has in the Magento admin panel:
1. Under Magento admin panel, go to 'System -> Configuration'
2. Select SM Ken Theme on the left-hand menu
3. Tweak the theme as you want
